Let Kids Be Kids!
Nothing inspires my photography more than my children. Whether it's mud on their hands, tomato sauce on their faces, or sprinkles on the floor... these real, raw, messy childhood moments make me say, "Let me get my camera!" (And then shortly after, some paper towels.)

Like most moms these days, I love snapping pictures of my kids wherever we go. When I want to capture moments of them playing or enjoying a yummy treat, these are some of my favorite types of spots:

Red river balloon rally
How could I resist a photo op of a toddler holding rapidly melting ice cream with hot air balloons in the background?! This is such a fun event for the whole family, and the balloons offer a fun and whimsical backdrop.

Saint laurent pizza
Not only is the pizza delicious, the atmosphere is a VIBE. Bonus points for the free (during certain hours) arcade in the back! This place is the perfect setting for some photos of messy eating and playing games!

Dripp donuts
Dripp is now located in the former Sweetport location (which can be seen above with the sprinkles on the ground). While I absolutely loved Sweetport, the new owners are adding their own unique flare featuring vibrant colors and really good chicken and donuts. There is also outdoor seating with room to run around and umbrellas for that much needed shade!

Sprout
Sprout is opening soon in Shreveport and I cannot wait! With the same owners as Dripp, this indoor playscape/cafe/children's resale shop is bound to be a favorite spot for me and my kids! The owner is so sweet and she gave me the OK to take some promotional pictures of my kids playing there when it's ready!

This super bright, colorful, and delicious brunch spot (featured above with my son eating a beignet) is a great spot for fun photos of messy little eaters.

the great outdoors
There are plenty of beautiful landscapes in the SBC! Lake Bistineau is a stunning location with a very Louisiana setting. I currently have a seasonal pass to the American Rose Center as well, and it's basically a giant backyard fairy garden. Also be on the lookout for sunflower fields north of Shreveport in June! All of these places allow for kids to run around, get messy, and just be kids with some gorgeous surroundings!
